| Bill Joel tribute evening |
Pianist Andy Beatson is to perform a Billy Joel tribute evening at the pub on Sunday July 13th. It starts at around eight o'clock. |
| Sponsored charity walk |
A sponsored charity walk is being held on Saturday August 16th. You choose your own charity and get sponsorship for a 6.7 mile walk which will take a leisurely two-and-a-half hours. We start at the pub with free coffee and tea at 0930 and return for a free buffet. There are hardly any roads on the route. Ask in the pub for details. |
| Sunday music |
We now have live acoustic music at the pub on the last Sunday of every month. If you can play an instrument or sing, then come along and join in. The next date is July 27th. |
| Sunday food success |
Our Sunday roast lunches are now so popular that a booking is really necessary to guarantee a table. We have had to turn people away, and we don't like doing that! We take orders between 1pm and 4pm. There will be at least two roast meats every week. Call us on 01634-842418. We look forward to seeing you! |
| Letting rooms now available |
Our four letting rooms at the pub are now available for letting. We have a four-poster bedroom and another double with en-suites, as well as a family room - also en-suite - and a twin room with its own bathroom. Please phone the pub for prices and availability. |
| First real ale festival |
The first festival at the pub featuring real ales with a military connection will run from Thursday 3rd July through until Sunday 6th. We will have 14 cask conditioned ales available. Please click on 'beers' to see the full list. |
| Sunday poser |
Each Sunday we set a written poser for customers to try to answer. All the entries go into a pot and the correct ones will be sorted at the end of the day. One is chosen and the lucky winner will get two pints of bitter or lager, or two glasses of wine. So far the interest in the poser has been fantastic! |
| All-day hot snacks |
You can now have a hot snack in the pub almost anytime! We sell a range of four different 12" pizzas to eat in or takeaway for just £8-50 or a smaller baguette - there are three varieties to choose from - for just £3-50. |
| July special |
During July you can get a pastie with chips and beans plus a pint of ale, larger or a glass of wine for just £5. |

Our range of bottled Belgian beers has now increased to about 30. Please ask to take a look at the list in the pub. They range from just £3.00. |
